Shopping Tips from an experienced Jamaican Souvenir Retailer Karina’s Gifts & Tees in Falmouth, Jamaica.

  1. If you’re buying T-shirts and are looking for larger sizes such as 3XL, 4XL, 5XL, or 6XL, expect to pay a few dollars more.  These will have been custom-made and contain more material.
  2. The Wood carvings are hard to price; they have been lovingly hand-made, so it’s the carver’s time, years of expertise, and skill.  So bear that in mind when you’re negotiating with the wood carving artists.
  3. Oil Paintings, the same principle as the woodcarvers, made by Jamaican artists, negotiate with an appreciation of their time, effort, and work.
  4. Regarding the Rum Cakes, Rum, Coffee, and hot sauces, you can buy variety packs that the retailer has put together.  For example, Aanchal of Karina’s Gifts and Tees does a pack of 2 oz coffee, a small rum cake, a small bottle of Rum, and a bottle of hot sauce for $20.00.  Such a bargain and you get a taste of everything Jamaican to take home.
